The pacing was so bad and i feel like i never had time to get attached to any characters? The twist at the end was good tho so I’ll give the second book a shot to redeem it

Ek voel as ek dit net gelees het sou dit 5 sterre wees, maar omdat dit n audiobook was was ek nie soos heeltemaal geimmerse nie. Dit was fokken goed tho. Ekt lanklaas n boek gelees (luister) wat alles het waarvan ek hou. Politics. Enemies to lovers. Bad ass fmc. Van die goed was kind of predictable soos dat lorian fae was, maar ekt nie verwag dat sy die heir sou wees nie. Dit was crazy, ekt actually hard op gegasp. Ek love hoe n bad bitch sy is en dat sy net aanvaar het dat sy enige iets moet doen om te survive. Haat dit as hulle hulself heeltyd jammer kry. Kan nie wag om die volgende boek te lees nie en te sien hoe als uitspeel. Daars nog so so baie wat kan gebeur. Obviously is die hele boek ook n cliche en daars honderde boeke met die selle plot, maar die skryfstyl is goed en die karakters is goed geskryf en ek love die dynamics. Kan nie wag om te sien hoe Prisca se powers groei nie, want ek voel daars soveel meer wat sy met dit kan doen as wat sy op die oomblik kan.

I first put 5 stars because I actually really enjoyed the first book.
Then I read the comments from the community on Goodread and I was WHEEZING the whole time, they're accurately hilarious.

So honestly, I only picked this one up because I got it in my Arcane Society subscription box, so I had 0 expectation going in. Definitely didn’t expect it to become one of my new favorite series!!!

First and foremost, Lorian 😍 new top 5 MMC. So grumpy. So surly. So Touch Her And Die that you can’t help but swoon

The magic system and world are so unique and unlike all the current elemental/monster/blahblahblah romantasies out there right now

I was on the end of my seat with that ending! Immediately diving in to the next book
