Prisca somehow still has her magic and once it’s accidentally discovered she has to go on the run. Lorian and his mercenary friends end up taking her in/protecting her so she can use her time magic to help them through the gates of the city. They drive each other crazy but once they get to the city, they both have their own agendas that push them back together.
The cliffhanger ending! This story was engaging and kept me interested every chapter. The slow burn was done well, truly building the relationship / enemies to lovers trope. I’ve heard great things about the series and I’m excited to go to book 2!

I’ve been in such a fantasy book slump lately. No fantasy book/series has caught my attention. BUT, this book? Holy shit. I read it all in one sitting. It was so good

Loved!! I love the characters and the twists and turns in the plot. I do feel like some of the plot twists were like moved in from a bit quickly but i still really enjoyed the book

This book was good, but somehow both predictable and very confusing. I'm a bit bored of the constant cliche of a woman who just wants to be "normal" who is royalty in disguise, being betrayed by someone she shouldn't love but does anyways. I loved the dynamic of her with the "mercenaries", but I felt like you could see the ending coming from a mile away. Interested in the second book, but it feels like I know where that will go.
Omg this was so good i love lorian and it was like kind of your classic tropes but with more unique magic than usual and written well to the point i was glued to it!!!!!!! I was like hesitant to start cuz some people had mixed reviews but this was so much better than other popular fantasies that people rave about so im glad i gave it a try

This is a beginning and a fun ones I like that Prisca isn’t terribly dumb all the times but this is far romance with politics and great background and if you like that thing you will like this book. It is not breaking the mold and making me feel anything yet. . I do find that often a 3 star indie fantasy turns better the more books I read because the first book feels like set up.
