Slow start and I felt it was dragging a bit. But the plot twists that kept coming at the end were worth it!
This book was awful. And not in a ‘junk food indulgent’ kind of way, which I would have respected. No, it literally had zero redeeming qualities and fails on all fronts.
The characters are completely flat, the fantasy/ magic is uninteresting, the romance is embarrassing and laughable, the plot makes no sense, and the writing is…painful.
I knew within the first few pages what I was getting into, so it’s my own fault I kept reading. It was humored by it at first, and then I ended up finishing it out of a mix of spite and resentment. It did help me with my summer book bingo, so there’s that. Not worth it though.
