Enjoyable romantasy. The FMC has secret super powers and a history hidden from her. She is fiercely loyal to her brother and her friends. She's furious about the injustices that permeate her society. The MMC is mysterious (but lots of foreshadowing that suggests he's not who he seems), and the whole book is a lead up to his big reveal at the end-- leading to book #2. Lorian drives her crazy, but they can't keep their hands off each other. More about that will clearly be revealed in the next book.

3.5 stars because I liked the plot but some of the dialogue felt way too rushed, like the dialogue just didn’t have enough emotion to it so some of the scenes didn’t really make sense.

One thing i can say for certain is that i was hooked. Mr. Cruel prince is deceptive and cunning but he could get it. This series is great if you love reluctant allies, slow burn, he falls first kind of romances. Esp if you love a “she’s mine… touch her and die” kind of vibe

This has been a year of sub par books, but OMGGGG finally a phenomenal book! The language is *chef’s kiss* the slow burn is perfect. The pacing, the plot. The growling and nicknames and intrigue! Ahh love love love! Can’t wait for the next book!
