I didn’t mind this story! Glad there wasn’t a lot of smut but just some slow burn romance. I was honestly a bit confused about the world building but I was genuinely pleased with the unexpected and overall story plot. I do plan to read the rest of the series, not sure if I would re-read the series though.

This book was good but it could have been so much more. The concept is really intriguing and the plot was excellent. Prisca really annoyed me as a character. She felt very Mary Sue "I can do no wrong" type, that didn't fit with the story. I liked Lorian, he was jist more mature, especially his POV chapters made alot more sense. This could have been a 5 star if the writing was a bit better, and the descriptions not being glossed over as much as they were. Any character development felt rushed for all characters. Normally books like this I get through quickly, this one I struggled a bit as I wasn't enthused to read in bits and pieces. I had to dedicate an afternoon to finish it. That said, I really enjoyed how it finished and will continue with the series.
