Really good, definitely my favorite of the series! Graham is at his best when he really gets to the heart of the various characters relationships to each other and keeps the focus fairly limited, which is my main gripe with the later books when the perspective expands and things are not resolved as tightly. My only real complaint with this book is that the ending felt rather abrupt, the final chapter was good but i think the last two pages ended so suddenly, i would have liked even just a paragraph or two more of text. Still, a really good conclusion to this part of the story!

Ugh. This book. It was going so well and then *that scene* happened and I just couldn’t even believe it. And the rest of the reading experience was tainted. So 3 stars but I will keep going in the series and hope for better in later books.
