It took me a 2 months to finish this book, but it was worth it.

I've been reading this series since December 2022 and even at book 5, I still wish I'd read it when I was younger.

Out of all the books, I think the reason I liked this one the least is because of the sudden inclusion of demons. The world building of them being in the series was explained quickly, and the same points of them being there were repeated throughout the novel. Since the beginning the series has felt episodic, in terms of that if each book were a season of a TV show I could see it translating nicely. This was largely the reason why.

Overall, the ending was what had me confused and hooked. The time incident at the near end of the book confused me, but now I'm going to read the next one. Looking forward to nearing the end!

I continued reading the Artemis Fowl series this month, as I really want to finish the entire series before the movie comes out. (I do think I’ll have more time now, with all movie releases being pushed back). I do think this book is my least favourite in the series though. I wasn’t a fan of the demon characters and I didn’t care too much about the female Artemis (whom we apparently hear nothing of in the following books). Still, it was a very enjoyable book and I loved the dynamics between Artemis and Holly.
