Finally!!

I feel like screaming, "finally"!!!! After the complete repetitive drag that was book 2 of this series, we finally get to experience the meat of this story.
A good portion of the clues we were given have led us to some answers, and origins of key characters. Elements previously having been alluded to are slipping into place, and
I feel relieved!
I look forward to book 4,and to the absolute hell fire that Aria will unleash on those standing in her way. Look out Knox!

The smut gets a bit excessive at certain points.

My Gods this book is painful. It is heartbreaking. The way Aria is treated is horrible. It broke my heart and sometimes I just wanted to stop reading. Watching someone take a broken thing and hurt it more is difficult. And I don't know if there is true redemption for Knox.
The world is addictive and even though it was brutal and raw I couldn't stop reading. I have so much faith in Aria and her heart. She is the light in this dark world and I love that girl. Hopefully, book four gives her the world.

You know, I have to fight myself to NOT give this series all 5 stars, because I'm currently obsessed with it... and I think that's clouding my judgement.. lol. I'm taking a breather from these for a bit, but if they're still living rent free inside my brain in a few months, I think I'll bump them all I'll to 5s.

Witches, monsters, smut, war, emotional whiplash, traitors and snakes... man... Amelia has done an AMAZING job building the Nine Realms AND all the characters included. I just realized books 6 &7 aren't even out yet, so now I need to pace myself before I reach the end of book 5 and have a panic attack or breakdown or something...

I had an extremely difficult time with Knox’s bipolar attitude to the point where I almost DNF’d multiple times. I think the spice was the only thing keeping me going through most of it. Every time you think Knox is going to start treating aria better he ends up giving you whiplash that ruins the moment. While this is the whole point of their story, it’s over the top for me and almost too much. That being said, the reveal at the end saved this book for me and I will be reading the next.
