What a good book! And what surprise! I highly recommend for anyone who enjoys cooking and believes they eat better at home than they do in restaurants

I mostly liked this book. The idea of connecting recipes to life experiences resonated with me (and made me want to write some sketches of my own). On the other hand, this book reminded me of why memoirs should be written by the (much) older; when the book concluded with Wizenberg's marriage, I thought "WAIT! You chose to write the book now?! So much more good story material will occur after you marry. Having children will connect you to your father's memory in new and interesting ways! Seriously?!" But alas, the book was finished. I hear she's working on another book, which is I guess what you have to do when you end your memoir in the middle of your life.

This makes it sound like I didn't enjoy this book, but I really did. I liked it so much that I wanted it to keep going and come full circle. Oh well. Also, haven't tried any of the recipes yet, but they look amazingly delicious. Glad I have the book in paperback so I don't have to return it to the library batter-stained.

I really liked this! I'm a sucker for the format - memoir + recipes - and I loved both the essays about her dad and Paris and her husband, which were sweet and touching, and the recipes. Having also acquired an obsession with food during a stay in Paris, I related pretty easily. Most importantly, I wanted to make every single recipe in the book. Quick and charming read that hopefully leads to a quick and charming meal!

It's always nice to pick up a good food memoir. I've read enough of them now to know pretty quickly what I like and don't like. Her book read almost like emails from a good friend and I think I will make some things from her recipes. She reminds me of how integral food can be to life and to really love what I eat and how I make it. I also subscribed to her blog :)

I enjoyed this book as a memoir. The recipes look good too, but I haven't tried any of them yet. This book is a compilation of Ms. Wizenberg's blog. My biggest problem with most blogs is that they tend to be random and uneven. But this book doesn't suffer from that, since there is a clear narrative arc. I would imagine that some postings were omitted and others were reordered. Ms. Wizenberg's father Burg is a strong presence throughout the book.

This book is kind of like having a smart, well-traveled friend share her life, both its ups and downs, with you. I walked away from this book wishing I really did know Molly.

When I first picked up this book, I knew it used a structure that weaved recipes into a story and I LOVED the idea. In fact, I actually had the idea for a book of my own, but Wizenberg beat me to the punch. So it would suffice to say that I had high expectations. But, in truth, they weren't quite met. While I haven't tried any yet, the recipes sound great, and I look forward to trying a few. But the story didn't have enough of an arc. And it ended too much like a fairy tale, which made me think the narrator is naive. Life doesn't actually conclude when you get married. All that said, this book was totally me. It's about a young woman who likes to travel and cook who loses her father suddenly and shortly thereafter gets married. But while the story was similar to mine, the voice of the narrator was not (and in fairness, I probably don't have as great of recipes up my sleeve, either). LOVE the concept, liked the book.
