We finish this book with my son and we definitely enjoyed so much read it together
A fun, but unmemorable read.
The unnamed narrator and his grandmother have a wonderful relationship and I like the ending.
However, there are some plot holes, the climax and resolution is a little too easy and I had to suspend disbelief.
Road Dahl's children books are full of imagination, creativity and wit and The Witches is no exception.

I just had to re-read this book when I found out there was a remake of the movie. This was a quick read, but it definitely took me on a trip down memory lane. I remember this being one of the first "novels" I've read. I would always get it at the library from school, and I remembered how the labriarian continuously reminded me that there were other books available lol. Reading it again as an adult made me laugh, questioning why I loved it so much. Now I can finally watch the new movie and see if Anne Hathaway nailed or failed the role of The Grand High Witch!
I was reading something else on my Kindle while visiting family, and my mom joked around that I should read outloud to share -- so I looked through my e-library and found this silly little book on there and spent a good chunk of this weekend playing storyteller whenever they asked me to read them another chapter. Proof that adults never grow out of the magic of storytime!

"The Witches" by Roald Dahl is a captivating blend of humor and suspense that kept my entire class thoroughly entertained. The book masterfully weaves together elements of comedy and fear, creating a unique and engaging reading experience.
Dahl's witty writing style and imaginative storytelling effortlessly drew us into the world of the Grand High Witch and her diabolical plans. The characters, particularly the brave protagonist and his eccentric grandmother, were endearing and relatable, adding depth to the narrative.
