I like MHC because she writes clean books with happy endings, yet usually have some controversial topic, in this case, euthanasia. I like mysteries and these are easy to read in an evening.

Riveting! So many players that just made it great! Of course lots of drama in politics, but this story pulled it off!! Loved it!!
I enjoyed reading this novel, mainly for the way in which the author intertwined the different subplots. There is quite a mystery involved, as well, as we try to uncover the background of the protagonist and how it ties in with the rest of the main plot. I found myself caring for what happened to the characters, a definite plus when evaluating a novel. The only thing I have to complain about was that the bad guy was more or less identified quite far from the end, making the ending somewhat anti-climatic. Worth the read nevertheless.

This was a real unexpected treat. I hadn't come across the author before but it came as my mystery second hand book from Abominable Book Club.
An American political thriller, published in 1984. Well, I did enjoy the genteel world the book described, but I couldn't help compare it to how American politics is now. This felt like a much more gentle and honourable world.
Higgins Clark has a wonderfully straightforward style that carries you through the twists and turns of the story. The booked flowed brilliantly and although it was a bit dated and particularly stylish or innovative I did enjoy it and I'm happy it crossed my path.
