eh....i've never read a book that I did not like, yet did not want to put down. very odd....the ending sucked. i was intrigued by the medical/EMT aspects of the book; something familiar. thats about it

I loved this book, but I haven't seen the movie yet. It's a tearjerker, but I find most of Jodi Picoult's books are.

A very interesting idea for a plot, even a good book, but the ending took a serious nose dive. What was Picoult thinking? Did she get tired of writing towards the end? I felt she really could have gone someplace with it, and then bam! It ended. I was left with a feeling that can only be described as, "Whaaa-?"

Wow this book could have been soooo much more! The general storyline has great potential. A daughter dying from AML and a second one conceived to keep the first one alive with her blood transplants, and is currently awaiting a kidney transplant for said sister.

But then theres flashbacks that are so unnecesary and a romantic side story of her attorney and it's highschool romances.
Soooo boooring and unnecesary...
And then the ending.

This ending could have been so much more. I'm deeply dissapointed... This book could have been like 200 pags shorter.

I loved Anna and Kate but I literally couldn’t stand the mum so I wanted Anna to win the case, I loved the court scenes! Didn’t really care for Julie’s POV and I really liked Brian. I was so mad sometimes at Sarah and I was sad, happy and the book still had some humour. So sad at the ending!

This novel is a fascinating glimpse into a young girl's struggle to have a say in what happens to her body. After years of giving of herself - literally - to her older sister Kate, who has a certain form of leukemia, Anna Fitzgerald decides it is time she had a choice. She sues for medical emancipation, which sets the stage for this heartwrenching book, but the real story here is about the family, the members, their struggles and triumphs.

Four stars, definitely. I laughed, I yearned, with Anna for her freedom. I cried, more than once. This book was a journey I won't soon forget.

This book made me so mad that I threw it after the last page. It's so good though that I've read it twice.
