Wasn't certain if I would give 4 or 3 stars, the feelings in this book are heart wrenching and being able to feel is something that tells if book deserves a higher rating or not. But putting the grief aside I do think the end was bit cheap so I don't think I can give it 4 stars even tho I enjoyed it

Not the kind of book I normally read, but I downloaded the first chapter on Kindle and had to buy it. It really starts off with an intriguing bang, and the rest of the book wasn't disappointing either. But is it ever a tearjerker!

I’m MAD. But I’m mostly impressed by how many storylines she managed to fit in this book

2.5 stars. I am clearly in the minority here, but this book made me so mad. The entire premise makes me see red, creating a petri dish daughter to save your other, apparently more precious, daughter?? Not only are the medical ethics of that, interesting (and surely not allowed tf?) but from a parental standpoint?? Shit ass parents. Obviously I'm not a parent in that situation, and what a horrible situation, but would I create another HUMAN BEING for the sole purpose of being a body bag full of organs for my first daughter? nah, I really don't think I could do that. Children are persons? "the safety of the rescuer is of a higher priority than the safety of the victim. Always." that phrase gets mentioned once in the beginning and then apparently never acknowledged again.
Also it was sort of a cliche right down to both lawyers throwing away their closing argument notes to *speak from the heart* let alone the twist at the end. Also I didn't really like the overall tone of the writing, it felt very bearish and blunt.
