It took me a long time to finish this book, even though I truly loved the others in the series. I was really nervous about how this would resolve, not that it wouldn't, but that I wouldn't be satisfied. I was wrong, and this was wonderfully satisfying. Grace & Ewan aren't my favorite couple in the series but I can appreciate how they work together.

Oh no! After LOVING book 2, this one fell a little flat for me. A redemption arc is always hard to pull off and unfortunately I don’t think it totally works here. The book actually made me like Grace less. I kept screaming HELLO
he tried to kill you, your brothers and 5 people have died
- stop pining over how hot he is!!!

Ultimately, what Ewan feels for Grace doesn’t come across as love, it comes off as obsession. I enjoyed the world Sarah MacLean built in this series but I didn’t care for this final installment.

It is perfection and I understand.

I am not sure what else to say.

It was fantastic. Chef's kiss. Beautiful.

5 stars to the other books in this series but not here. Too much backstory and sentimentality. Grace a good heroine as are all the women in this series.

i am conflicted <3 do i love sarah maclean? yes. her writing is phenomenal and she builds relationships so beautifully. i had a criticism, tho, that lasted for most of the book. WHY DIDN'T EWAN JUST TELL THEM THAT HE WAS TRYING TO PROTECT THEM???? i know he couldn't find them for a long time, but i mean when he finally found them. like in the FIRST BOOK when he saw Devil for the first time again. why not just tell them then?? i just feel like that would've solved everything way quicker omg. and then the story could be about grace and ewan learning each other again after years apart or rebuilding trust. idk it didn't make a lot of sense to me. also i really craved some kind of resolution for devil and beast with ewan that we never really got.
so, i loved grace and i loved ewan i just felt like the plot flopped a little bit. i also wish we had more context about their childhoods and what made ewan so obsessed with her. also like... what was Ewan doing for 20 years?????? idk man. my least favorite in the series so far, but it was still a good book. i wanna give it like a 3.5/4. so i'm gonna give it a 3 and maybe change that once i sit with this book a little longer.
