not my favorite in the series, to be honest (that honor, of course, goes to hattie/the wicked and the wallflower) but groveling isn't my favorite romance trope either. overall, maclean has given a solid redemption arc to a character who i was not initially interested in redeeming, so that's pretty impressive. grace, of course, is a goddamn delight as the heroine, and the series tied up quite nicely

I wasn’t sure how MacLean would get me to like Ewan and root for him and Grace to be together.
I was tearing up by the end of first chapter though. This book was very angsty and I was very convinced that Ewan loves Grace by the end of it. I love an angsty long suffering Duke. I’m satisfied with the ending, I wasn’t sure where it was going to go and I didn’t predict it at all, but I’m happy with how it ends. Hattie and Whit are still my favorite!
