As cute and charming as the previous novel. I really liked what this one had to say about jealousy and friendship, and how it sometimes takes time to warm up to another person--especially if you're holding a grudge against them because of your jealousy. I also really enjoyed how this book expanded the world of the witches, introducing several new ones, and the relationship between Effie, Selemine, and Carlota continues to grow into something very lovely. I'm really looking forward to the next book!

Absolutely adorable. I did enjoy the first one more but this was still as adorable. I loved the art and the colours, and all the cosy little witches.

These characters bring such joy and happiness to my heart. I finished this book with a smile on my face and was content with the journey I was guided on. The world-building is fantastic, especially in the many details the author illustrates in each panel. I believe in this world and these characters and can relate to many of the annoyances, enjoyments, and trivialities of life that each is dealing with. For the sequel, the author allowed us to peek further into this world, and I appreciated learning more about the magic and the many eclectic witches of Brooklyn. This story was very well balanced and gave just enough for a third story to come out in the future (waiting with bated breath for 2022) with just enough satisfaction given to the reader of learning and still wanting more from these characters, their stories, and backstories. If you enjoyed the first book, you wouldn't be disappointed with this sequel.

Cute graphic novel about a young witch apprentice whose best friend goes silent over winter break. When they get back to school, it turns out it was because of a new girl who moved into her building from France. Effie gets jealous and though her aunts give her good advice about maintaining friendships, she can't keep up her patience past a week. Meanwhile, the NYC witch community has been concerned about what seems to be a cursed corner. Effie's new-found communication and conciliation skills come in handy repairing both her friendship and the street corner.

Effie is precious and I love that even when she feels BIG feelings, she tries to figure them out - mostly. Haha! I'm looking forward to more of these books!
