my favorite book of the triology <3

if you don’t like Alina losing her powers and her whole ending then i’m sorry to tell you this but you did not understand her whole character arc at all.

Amazing. The twist
of the Keramzin tree hanging
made me put the book down because of how shocked I was. Alina's emotions torwards the Darkling because of their connection to each other made this series feel emotionally jarring for her. Alina's development throughout this series was beautifully written. I love how a (below) average person can develop into someone of such great power when driven by love.
Mal's devotion to Alina stemming from his love for the girl she used to be and growing to the girl she has become was such a beautiful way to show his development as well. The Darkling's death and send off showed Alina still had her mercy she thought she lost. Nikolai turning into a nichevo'ya was so necessary to develop the plot and to develop his character into one with more depth. I loved his dealing with his father and what he did to Genya, true king shit.
Alina has grown so much through the series and it makes me feel so happy seeing her happy in the end.

i personally liked this book the most from the triology, it was the most enjoyable for me as siege&rising as well!! i loved this book for having a lot of cute scenes between my favorite characters and ships, i found them really interesting and adorable. like genya and david, genya and alina, tamar and nadia. i cant fully give this book five stars for some of alina’s stupid actions.

I liked this book better than the last books! I couldn’t put it down, and stayed up late reading it, and it only took me 3 days to read it.  I was completely immersed in it, and I could imagine the action in the book as a movie in my head while reading it. I would  recommend this series. It is easy to read, but not cheesy or childish. It is so creative. But I much prefer the SOC series and would highly recommend that series, but this one is good too.
I loved the ending. The orphanage was the perfect place for Mal and Alina to live after faking their deaths. I’m so happy for them!! “They had an ordinary life, full of ordinary things—if love can ever be called that” ahhh I’m so freaking happy for them. AND they took in of Misha!! Aw!! Mal was so good with him and now they’re like his parents awww. And they’re taking great care of the orphans!! I also loved that Nikolai made it so that if you are tested positive for Grisha powers, then you can choose whether or not you want to go to the Little Palace! I love Nikolai. And when the Grisha (like Zoya, Tamar, etc.) gave Alina a blue kefta and said “You’ll always be one of us” my heart melted. If I could cry to books I would’ve cried so many times.

*big sigh* Why was this book so so good? This bumped the series as a whole from a solid 4 to a 5 star read. I am just in love with ending, and the way in which characters arcs were completed. I just loved it so much and will definitely be re-reading this series as a whole!
