I love this book (I think the movie is good too). It's like a retelling of the story of Hosea in the Bible. It is set during the Gold Rush in the West of the United States. What I also like about this book is that even though the main character is a prostitute, the author doesn't go into unnecessary details but doesn't "sugar coat" it either. Woulld read this book again.

Redeeming Love is a beautiful story mirroring the story of Hosea from the Bible. While it is very dark and deals with several sexual themes, it is less explicit than most romance written today. Two of the themes that I think were handled very well in this book are religious bigotry and the idea that one’s Savior must be God and not another person. Instead of siding with the judgmental churchgoers, this book focuses on the redemptive power of God. When Angel begins to see Michael as her savior, God pulls her away to find Him. All that being said, this is a fantastic book, but take the content warnings seriously.

This was such a hard and dark book, it made me cry and I am not okay. But it was SOOOOOO GOOD. 

Done through a very solid understanding/retelling of the book of Hosea, it deals with a lot of hard topics and trauma, and redemption and healing. It was so beautiful, and spoke to my heart. I honestly can't believe it took me this long to read it after having it be recommended by a friend years ago.

That being said, though I wouldn't say there are graphic details, there is a lot of mentions of very adult themes like sex trafficking.

I personally loved this book. Around before the middle, I was beginning to get upset due to how forceful Michael (love interest) seemed. However, reading made me really see that we're not perfect and have different intentions. This was a great book and I teared up
