I expected far more from Lana Del Rey. I found that while some poems felt honest and nostalgic, others felt like an iPhone note; especially with the use of "u" instead of you and random emojis. I enjoyed the references to California, as a California native, but can imagine they can be alienating to those whom have never stepped foot here. Overall, I did not enjoy reading it.

i love lana but there wasn’t any poetry in this collection that really gripped me the way other poems do whenever i read them. love her music, but not this as i couldn’t attach myself to any of the poems at all. nevertheless, i enjoyed the scenic imagery of her surroundings.
