An entertaining and magical tale. A bit silly - but in a good way.

There were some funny moments but overall I was let down by this, not because it's a bad book, but because I don't really think I'm in the mindset to read children's books anymore (or at least, not currently). I found many of the parts just too silly for me and I'm pretty far past the target age group at this point. In addition, with Ella Enchanted being one of my favourite books since childhood, my expectations for this companion novel were probably just too high.

Simetimes, you just have to go back to your favorite childhood writers. A willful teenage healer is exactly the type of protagonist I needed to follow.

Good and easy to read but not as entertaining as fairest or Ella enchanted

It just doesn't have the same spark that I liked in Ella Enchanted (or even in Fairest for that matter). I found the beginning to be very slow. Things became interesting towards the end, especially when characters from Ella Enchanted made cameos, but this book wasn't very memorable.
