Caitlin and Wes were friends in college. He's always thought she was hot but he felt friend-zoned. So when a blackout forces now CEO-Caitlin to stay at Wes's apartment, he's sure it's going to be just as friends. But close proximity might mean that the CEO might just fall in love with the guy who is currently earning money by wearing an inflatable T-Rex costume and dancing with a quartet singing Christmas carols.
I heard about this book on a Fated Mates interstitial about one bed tropes and don't regret reading it at all.

I really wish that this book hadn't been a novella. I think that it would have been a great full length story because this story lacked the character and relationship development that I ended up wanting. I did love this story, though, so I don't want it to sound like I didn't. But I couldn't understand how quickly Caitlin was able to fall for Wes because I didn't think there was enough development of their previous friendship. Or maybe I'm just very demi. I will say, I loved the writing style because she did such a good job with it. Sometimes people are not able to pull off this type of style but I loved it in this book. Either way, I really enjoyed this story and I can't wait to read more from Jackie Lau!

This is a book that is a prequel to the Baldwin Village series.
And the cool TRex costume.
Yay!

The nice thing about novellas is that the conflict doesn’t need to be dragged out, but it does still bother me when one person thinks they’re protecting the other by leaving them to be with someone better suited even though they’ve made their wishes clear that they want them. One should be able to make that decision for themselves. But other than that, it was quite cute and is a worthy addition to the only-one-bed trope.
