Everything moved pretty quickly, and at another time I might have seen that as a drawback, but right now it was exactly what I needed
I couldn't stand that the heroine was always describing the male love interest as broad chested, chiseled jaw, blah, blah, blah. She is childish and whiny and the way the "love" progresses makes no sense honestly. I tried to finish but I couldn't take anymore

It’s all the cliches rolled into one and it’s not even fun to read :(
i really loved this book. one of my favorite fantasies i’ve read in a long time. i loved the pacing, the world, the magic system, and the characters, 10/10 would recommend.

This book swept me up in the story very quickly. The pacing was great and prices of the mystery/what Arwen doesn’t know were sprinkled throughout expertly. The writing was excellent and easy to get entranced in. The descriptive imagery in particular had a hold on me—so beautiful. The dialogue was realistic in my opinion and there were some genuinely funny moments. I look forward to seeing how the rest of this story unfolds in the next books!
For the most part, this is very predictable. If you're familiar with new adult enemies-to-lovers fantasy, nothing in this book will come as a surprise to you. But it will definitely scratch your enemies-to-lovers itch if that's what you're looking for.
