this is barely a 3. found it long and boring. what am i missing? lots of people seemed to like this book.

didn't care for the world, skimmed parts just to get through, writing was fine

people think this girl is dead. but really she's been hiding out nearby and learning to use her powers. there's a guy and they slow burn fall in love and stuff happens. can't even remember the ending

At first I was like this book is okay, a little boring and familiar to other books but otherwise fine. That was until that ending. Genuinely I don’t think that plotwist made any sense and felt kind of ridiculous. Like out of nowhere our main characters are Gods and have cringy names like The Sun and The Moon?! Im sorry but this sudden change pared up with other tropes that I despise (fake death // fake betrayal) just made me hate the ending.
Also the relationship between Elara and Enzo seemed sudden and unnatural to the point where I couldn’t even connect with their individual characters!!
