I enjoyed Sohut and Cleo's story. it was interesting and wawa was adorable (I want one). Their lives are certainly exciting and I have to say I think they will do so well together in the future. They have similar interests and hobbies and I love their connection. Look forward to continuing this series.

Absolutely loved this book and the characters. Great plot and got to see more of the world. Cleo and her pet are totally badass. Lots of romance, steam, fluff and action. Definitely going to get the next one.

I didn't like this one as much as the first one, but it was still enjoyable. It's not as dark until closer to the end when some possibly triggering things happen.

I found the first part of the book pretty funny and liked seeing the heroine be resourceful and snarky. Sohut was endearing, too.

As for the romance, it was a little insta-lust to me. The main thing I wish that had happened was that the two had talked and shared more about themselves before the spicy scenes happened. There were more scenes in this one, and it was not quite as slow of a burn as the first book.

I'm excited to read about Ka'Cit next!

Cool, cool.

It's time for another Amanda Review where she overall liked a book but picks at a lot of things that she just can't let go.

Let's get what I liked out of the way first:

+ This book has a fun jungle romp theme to it. It has plenty of action and is fast-paced. It kept me locked in, and I did not wander off once due to boredom or finding the storyline tedious.
+ Cute but deadly animal companion that terrifies the body fluids out of people.
+ Cleo and Sohut are pretty sweet together and have some nice steamy scenes.
+ Editing is pretty tight on this one. I did not notice any serious, glaring errors in it.
+ Allergic reactions. Yes, there would definitely be things that we're allergic to and have sensitivities to on other planets.

Based on those things alone, I would have given this read a 4 star rating.

But.

As my mother complains, I'm no fun to watch any movies with, because I'm analyzing the plot, the characters, the themes, and pointing out inconsistencies the entire time. Apparently, a lot of you do not find that sort of thing endearing or entertaining and avoid doing it. Whatever.

I still absolutely love this universe!! Unlike the first series where the books felt the same, this book felt completely different to the first book but also worked very well!

I found the situation that Cleo was put in was really interesting, and I thought Wawa was awesome!!
