Lots of typos that kind of pull me out of the story. Sometimes difficult to follow who is speaking but it is so worth it. Regardless of editing issues, the book is culturally relevant and very interesting so far! excited for the rest of the series
Graphic: Bullying, Child death, Death, Genocide, Hate crime, Torture, Police brutality, Murder, Classism
Surprisingly, I really enjoyed this! If you can get past the occasional misspelled word and grammatical errors, you will enjoy this. It's dystopian with magic and romance. Think Divergent but more. It does kinda give Wattpad vibes BUT the plot and characters are phenomenal!!

I think this book has a good chance at being really good, but idk I constantly had to go back and be like who, what, when, where like it didn’t flow very well together needs some editing work but has good bones.
Lots of grammatical and spelling errors. Hard to get into and understand at the beginning, but holy shit balls it takes a turn and keeps you on your toes the whole fucking time. Engaging, intriguing, can’t wait to continue. Also, countless twists and turns. Everything we loved about early 2000s dystopian with a little fantasy twist.
3.5⭐️
Overall I liked the book because of its vibes since I'm a sucker for a dystopian story and it being adult was such a nice surprise. The storyline intrigued me, but unfortunately, the characters felt a bit flat, especially our FMC but that can change in the second book. The love triangle with Fallan and Xavier definitely did not disappear just because of the ending but I'm honestly not rooting for either yet😭. Another thing that made it a bit harder to read aside from the characters lacking depth were the grammatical errors which I feel could’ve been fixed by simply having Grammarly💀. Regardless of that, the book is perfect for all the Divergent girlies who feel like rewatching the movie is just not cutting it anymore.
Tropes:
-Forbidden romance
-Dystopia
-Societal division
-Discovery of powers

I don’t think this book was even edited. It read like the first draft and there were so many grammatical mistakes and typos, it was difficult to read.
