This is a free short story in the Rissoli/Isles series. I hadn't appreciated quite how short, and therefore unsubstantial, this was. It took about half an hour to read and had (obviously) none of the usual character definitions and developments that I've come to expect.

Good short story. I love the TV series and am looking forward to reading the series of novels.

Quick fun read

Cute creepy read, with an unexpected outcome. It was definitely less than 23 pages, the rest of the story is an excerpt from the upcoming book and a piece of t h e tv script. Can't be mad for something that was free.

The shirt story part of this book that i downloaded from Barnes and Noble was... BAD! Not only did they basically sayn, that people are freaksnbut the story was just unbelievsable. It's extremly hard to imagine that Tess Gerritsen wrote it. Howevet, the two chapters of the Silent Girl were amazing and I can't wait ti read that book.

"When the corpse of the emaciated seventeen-year-old girl is discovered next to an empty coffin in an abandoned church, mysterious bruises around the throat suggest foul play. Caught fleeing the scene is the victim's closest friend, Lucas Henry, an equally skeletal, pale teenager who claims he's guilty only of having a taste for blood—a craving he shared with Kimberly."

A short story by an author I like, potential vampires and a free Kindle download. Irresistible. The story was short, well paced and a good read. I don't think I have read a book by Gerritsen with these characters, but it's been a while. This certainly got me interested.

It's entirely possible that I read this before and forgot. But I was craving an R&I fix.

This was a nice short story and intro into the lives of Jane and Maura. I will definitely be reading more of this series. It is funny how well they got the characters correct on the TV show Rizolli and and Isles.
