I loved this book! The story centers on Helen, who signs up for a wilderness survival course in an attempt to take back her life after a divorce. Although there is a romantic plotline, this book is much more than that, and I felt challenged and inspired by her adventure and the things she learned about life through the experience and the people she met along the way. Highly recommend and now I'm going to watch the movie!

Wow we’ve come a long way since the first ick.
My notes:
- I will never like a man who would rather pee in a cup in MY car than get off at the next exit like a normal person😤
- Noticing a pattern…the author certainly loves a grumpy/emo-sunshine trope with hardened female characters who soften by golden retriever men—been seeing this in ALL of her books that I’ve read so far
- Aww Jake is pretty sweet (pg 73-74)
- Windy is cool! And Beckett’s growing on me too
- My first official feet-kicking moment🎉
- Cute cute cute, happy happy happy

- The change in narration in the epilogue was weird

3.5 stars. This was my 4th Katherine Center and I thought it was… cute! I loved the hiking/survive the trails of it all. Super quick read.
Jake was practically perfect *shocker* EXCEPT THAT c’mon he kissed like 8 girls for truth or dare. Maybe I just have higher standards buuuut that moment was so unattractive and immature. The main reason for my rating is Helen, the female main character (FMC.). Didn’t love her and this has been the story with almost every FMC in Katherine Center’s books for me. Just something I’ll be weary of as I keep reading her!
Overall still sweet, swoony moments and comical, serious moments. So I’ll say again, cute!
