I enjoyed this book a lot in the beginning but then my interest faded like a car running out of gas. I liked the writing but struggled to connect with the characters or story. It felt like the story was unsteady and all over the place. A very intriguing premise though! I read this book as a traveling book in LiterALLy BOOKiSh Book Club, the best group on Facebook.
I thought this was going to be a delightfully weird '90s nostalgia story, but it ended up being a fairly uninspired monster tale that added nothing new to the genre.

Has some pacing issues. Felt too slow moving, before fully unraveling all too quickly. Attempted to use an unsatisfying ending, but did not do so effectively. I did enjoy the format and characters especially.
