The plot was moving too slow and did not give a reason for me to care much what was happening.

This is probably the first book in a long time. I have read all day long because I could not put it. It’s probably one of the most compelling horror novels I’ve read in a really long time. As someone who has dealt with grief and tragedy, it really hit home how much it can affect you and how much it can manifest. I would say, if you have dealt with a recent loss then maybe tread carefully. All and all I highly recommend this book.

This was a fun read…reminded me of Grady Hendrix. Can see this as a movie. Clever storytelling and short chapters made this a fast read, even at 425 pages.

Willow is reeling from the death of her son, Jacob, and has maintained his bedroom exactly as it was when he died. When her husband leaves, she feels like it's meant to be when she sees a job offer in for a youth pastor on Clifford Island, for which she can find little information online.

Months later, Willow has disappeared, and her brother Harper has gone to Clifford searching for her. He stumbles across strange, secretive people who live like they are in the 1990s, and for good reason.

An excellent, novel thriller/horror with several twists along the way!
