I did like this one a bit better. Again though, it's been years since the Hiccup of the first book, and he has been steadily improving. Sure he's behind the curve, when EVERYONE else is like two years older but you'd think by now they would have stopped treating him like a nuisance considering the feats he accomplished in the last three books.
I get they're going for this underdog type of story but at this point he's surpassed that and it's annoying to never see him get any bloody credit. He survived Romans, pirates and Hysterics. The one thing he can't seem to shake is that bloody reputation of his, even though in the very first book he got rid of two gargantuan dragons that made the adults all piss themselves with fear.
I am enjoying this series more and more though, especially with David Tennant's noteworthy narration.

Alternative title The Quest for the Frozen Potato. Much adventure, plenty of peril, and buckets of humour. Superbly illustrated too, love these books.

A short, sweet book full of Viking shenanigans and dragons. I had a lot of fun reading this. We got a heist plotline! I think that Hiccup and Camicazi have such a great dynamic -- their banter is enjoyable and makes already fast-paced books go by even faster. There's a little more at stake in this installment than in the previous ones, and I can see the series building up to bigger things in the future.
Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third is not your typical viking, but can he save his friend who has been poisoned by a dragon? In order to do it, he must brave a Doomfang dragon and fight a tribe of ill-tempered vikings to get a rare frozen potato. Oh, and he only has until 10 o' clock tomorrow before his friend is doomed.
A wacky, humorous story with a lot of adventure. This title and others in the series will appeal to reluctant readers and cash in on the popularity of dragon books. Recommended for a light, fun, wacky read.
