I love this series, but Tamarack County was a bit too predictable for me. Still, the characters were rich and the author has such a knack for vividly painting their humanity that I will continue reading his books with eager anticipation.

Krueger did not disappoint. I love the characters and feel a part of them, as they have grown. I'm ready for the next.

This is the first Cork O'Connor book that I've had to wait for its release date. I finally caught up with the series, and I was a bit curious to see what I thought of this one since I haven't been overly impressed with the most recent installments. I'm really getting tired of Cork and his family being targeted by wackadoos. If I were his kids, I'd get the heck outta Dodge and not look back. I was very disappointed in Steven's attitude toward Annie. That really cast a negative light on the book for me.

There were things about this one that bothered me. Cork hooking up, just when I felt ok with his other relationship. Talking about Steven’s erection. He might be 18? Maybe. Still, it didn’t move the story forward by adding that detail - multiple times. Gross.

Dang- the O'Connor family has the worst luck in the world. The more you read, the more prepared you are for the inevitable (and somewhat predictable) twists and turns. Of course it's what makes the stories compelling. And addictive. Sad that I am catching up to the most recent installment in the series.
