Always a good read.

One of my favorites in the Cork O'Connor series. Great mystery, good suspense, some questions to be answered. All very entertaining. Need to read the next one to see what happens in a couple situations, though.

This was my first Krueger read and it was great! I will be starting with #1 and reading my way through the series. The characters are fantastically written and I really enjoyed that his books are set in Minnesota, in an area I recognize and with Ojibwe characters who reflect some of our local culture. The plot was good, but somewhat predictable (which lent to the 4 star rating). However, there were a few twists I didn't expect and it absolutely held my attention. His books may just sway my reading more towards the mystery genre this year.

I couldn't keep the characters straight at first. The middle was ok but I kept thinking it was done. Too mamy unnecessary twists at the end. Maybe they get better as the series goes on?

No one writes about murder in the northland like William Kent Krueger. He gets northern Minnesota / Wisconsin juussttt right!

Another fantastic Cork O'Conner thriller. I love this series and am looking forward to the next.

I really liked Krueger's Ordinary Grace, so I decided to try his series. I enjoyed the fact that it is set in Northern Minnesota and the story was engaging. I didn't like it as much as either of John Sanford's series, though. I'll probably give the series another chance in the future.

Another great story by Krueger
