The Watchmaker has come up in so many other Lincoln Rhyme novels that I was glad to read the original. I was a bit nervous because the Watchmaker is such an over the top character but the book was surprisingly good! It had a lot of twists and I liked that there was more than one case going on. Yes some parts were a little far fetched but that’s something I’ve come to expect from the Lincoln Rhyme novels. Overall would suggest!
It was okay, I think it could have ended a few chapters sooner than it did. I have read many of his books so I won't let this one stop me.
Rhyme is a wonderfully irascible character... and this book shows this to a tee! We listened to this on our way home from Thanksgiving and enjoyed it thoroughly. I did, however, wonder if all the disparate threads of story line would ever link together. They did! Phew. In this story, LIncoln starts out running a serial killer case, while Amelia is lead investigator for the first time on her first murder investigation. Some professional tension is present at the beginning of the story, but they work through it and all the twists and turns brought to them by the evidence. A new character - Catherine Danz - brings interesting insight into interrogation techniques and provides a willing partner for both investigations, postponing her trip back home to California. I thoroughly recommend this one. Read masterfully by George Guidall.

Another good tale revolving around the crime solving team of Lincoln Rhyme and Amelia Sachs. I don’t think this is one of my favourites, but the story was still interesting with plenty of twists and turns (although I do feel it could have ended a couple of twists early).
Furthermore in this episode of the series, Kathryn Dance (another of Deaver’s crime solvers appears, I don’t know if this was her introduction, but I have read one of the books based on her investigations (XO) previously and enjoyed it. I felt her introduction was good. Overall a excellent addition to the series.

Pretty good suspense but while twists are interesting, this seemed a bit much with all the change of directions.
