I went into this story not knowing what it was about, I'm not sure that was a great idea. I wasn't able to prepare myself for this heartbreaking story of love, loss, and second chances. The characters were written perfectly, each with believable flaws that most of us can relate to. I found myself so attached to Adrian's character that I felt a tremendous loss when he was no longer part of the story. The undeniable love he has for his wife Nadia and the way he makes sure she is protected and cared for, both before and after his death had me an emotional wreck. We see Nadia, consumed with grief, making her way through life the only way she knows how. As the story unfolds we see the plan that Adrian has set into motion prior to his death,to help her move on, to show her that life is meant to be lived by those left behind. Nathan has his own tragic story of loss, and as he and Nadia become friends we get to see that not everyone has the same timeline for how long the grieving process is. That moving forward is easier said than done, and sometimes staying in that place of loss is where the comfort is. I loved witnessing the relationship develop naturally between Nathan and Nadia, each allowing the other to move on at their own pace. The last few chapters in the story were perfect. These characters will remind you that even after experiencing tragedy, there is still hope, that sometimes, we need a little nudge from those that know us best.

A heartbreakingly devastating story. I cried and I felt warm and fuzzy all on the same page. I love this book.

Overall: ☆☆☆ (3.4)
Writing style: ☆☆

For me, I gave this book an overall  3 stars review. I accidentally purchased this book, and was overall happy with the purchase after reading. My personal style is not usually romance,  and for me, probably why the writing style is so low for my grade, but with the steamier scenes,  it made it bearable.

I will admit, at one point this book did have me in tears, so it is a heart string puller. I'd relate the plot to P.S. I Love You,  with sexier scenes.

The writing style was not my particular writing style, because I felt like the font made the book seem longer than it was, at 400 pages. However, I was able to read this in only about 5 hours. So, I found myself wishing that the font had been smaller, allowing for more storyline, in the same amount of pages. As well as there were several grammatical errors the editing team missed, which unfortunately for me, makes me stop and analyze,  versus staying engaged (ADHD brain).

The characters were well developed, I just needed more of Adrian, I think. Overall, it was entertaining and I'd recommend to anyone looking for a quick romance read with a little bit of steaminess.

Author did a good job of wrapping up all loose ends.
