Not my favorite Stephen King but still good. The end dragged out too long.

I'm sorry Stephen King, but just no. This would have gotten 3 stars if it had been half as long, but 24 HOURS, ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? I wasted my life on this???? Why!?
This is Stephen King's attempt at true fantasy (some might say high fantasy) with princesses, giants, fallen monarchies, and heroes, and stuff. But it's just soooo bad. The writing style just doesn't fit with the plot -- it's like if Lord of the Rings were written with snappy, modern thriller writing -- it's bizarre and unsettling. Here's a weird quote: "I didn't cry out, but I felt my balls crawl and pull up tight against my scrote." Like whaaat? I mean, I don't have balls, but my husband does and he said that was such a weird description of terror.
The plot was so predictable, and it took FOREVER to finally get there. I knew what would happen hours before it finally happened. It was exhausting and infuriating and now I'm just venting. Thank you.
