Did I devour this? Yes. Did I have fun? Yes. Will I read book two? Yes. BUT, the pacing in this book felt all wrong. Everything happens way too quickly, down to the scenes being short and not developed enough. It feels kind of superficial when you don't get to see the characters fall in love with each other. It just POOF happens. I also think there were missed opportunities with side characters, the relationships just ARE, we don't really see them progress and build up. The fact that I had fun with it is why I'm giving this a 3.

Nina was the highlight of this book funny, admirable, and unapologetically herself. Unfortunately, almost everything else fell flat for me.

The side characters, especially her parents, felt bland and unlikable. Worst of all, the ending undermined everything that made Nina compelling. Her strength, humor, and refusal to compromise her beliefs were brushed aside, which also stripped away the charm of her relationship, the witty banter and dynamic that made them engaging in the first place. What could have been a satisfying conclusion instead left me disappointed and ultimately ruined the story.

Mafia romance at its best. Super easy read. Not too deep, not too complicated, it hits the spot when you're exhausted by RL and need a fluff romance with a morally gray man to worship you.
