I felt like this book had a lot of potential after the first one but it seemed to drag forever and never really get anywhere. I really struggled to finish this one and almost DNF’d it a few times. But there’s always better books out there 😌

The first book was like fun junk food with at least a somewhat interesting plot. It had a lot of spice but not to an annoying point. This book totally got annoying with the repetitive spice every other page with the same two people doing the same sexual acts over and over. The spice completely overshadowed the very serious plot. These people are under attack, people are being infected and killed, entire kingdoms are being taken over by nefarious vampires and yet all this king and queen do is have sex. I will probably still read the next book just because I did get invested in the characters in the first book and would like to see how this cliffhanger ends but I really hope author chooses more balance in the next book.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — More blood, more spice, more chaos—yes, please

Listened to this one on audio, and let me just say—the narrators delivered. The emotion, the tension, the rawness of every heated glance and political twist? It hit. Especially Adrian’s voice—low, commanding, and 100% made for enemies-to-lovers growls and declarations of devotion.

Queen of Myth and Monsters picks up right where the first left off, and it doesn’t slow down. War is coming, loyalties are tested, and Isolde is stepping fully into her power—and it’s glorious. She’s still messy, emotional, reckless, and so stubborn, but I love her for it. She makes choices with her heart on fire, and while I didn’t always agree with her, I felt for her.

The dynamic between Adrian and Isolde? Still magnetic. Still violent and vulnerable in the same breath. Their love is obsessive, all-consuming, and not always healthy—but damn, it’s addictive to watch unfold. And the spice? Darker, deeper, and even more intense than book one. Definitely not just thrown in—it reveals a lot about their relationship and the world they’re fighting for.

That said, the plot did get a little chaotic in parts. Political threads were introduced then dropped, and I occasionally felt like I was chasing the story instead of being immersed in it. But emotionally? I was in deep.

As much as I loved the first one… this was eeh. It’s a book that fills in a lot of holes and probably very much needed. But since there isn’t a third one yet… I’d recommend waiting till book three releases to read this series.

This felt very similar to the 2nd hades x persephone, but I still really enjoyed it. She does smut so well, and the betrayals were well done. Now for the long wait for the next one.

Enjoyed this one slightly less than book 1. The MCs are still interesting and fun but they seemed to have the exact same argument over and over again throughout this entire book. Overall I am still enjoying.
