The pining in this book is absolute perfection. Never did I think I would side with the high school bully, but Cal is lovable and relatable from chapter 1. Watching him struggle with his mental health and with his identity post-retirement was relatable and emotional. I loved his story, and watching these two realize their true feelings for each other. Favorite of this series so far.
