Okay this was the sweetest book ever. Love Bryce & Hunter so much 🥹 it felt like a big French lesson and hockey practice but worth it 😂

Bryce is the captain of Montreal’s NHL team and is an absolute legend. He gets chosen to go to an all star weekend in Vegas and meets Hunter, a newer pro player who plays for a Carolina team. They immediately hit it off and play super well together - Bryce is Hunter’s idol since he was a teenager and Bryce watches every game Hunter has played. They have a connection between the two of them which Bryce takes as attraction, makes a move and they have to figure out where to go from there when Hunter ends up being traded to Bryce’s team.

I really really liked this. It was so heartwarming to see them both figure out their feelings and why they felt this pull towards each other. I laughed out loud at some parts, then the big plot twist hit towards the end and I was about in tears with a knot in my stomach. They are just so sweet with each other, all the romantic French phrases 😭 Also a bit spicy! I wish there was more of a backstory for both characters, I felt like we didn’t get much depth unfortunately. Also there was a LOT of hockey play by play so if you’re a sports romance kinda person but don’t want a lot of sports talk, this might not be for you 😂

I LOVED everything about this book....except all the French! The only reason the French was bearable was because I read this in the Kindle app so I could easily translate. Though it was still super annoying.

I am such a sucker for a happy ending, and this one was exceptionally good. I’m tempted to rate it 5 stars just for the ending, but I’ll hold myself back.
Honestly, the only reason this isn’t getting 5 stars is because of a personal requirement I have with romance books, where the characters meeting and immediately having romantic interest in each other just does not work for me. I want to see a friendship developed first, some sort of relationship without romantic interest, otherwise it just feels unrealistic and rushed (definitely my aromanticism coming into play).
Other than that, this book is practically perfect. Has that necessary amount of angst, I wish there’d been a bit more pining though. The writing is so, so beautiful. A lot more detail than I’ve come to expect from hockey romances, but I enjoyed that. I also enjoyed how hockey was a big part of the plot (as it should be). I feel like a lot of other hockey romances are lacking on that front.
I loved the brotherhood of the team, how close they all were and how they supported each other and loved Bryce so fiercely.

Hockey romances are a favorite genre for me, mixed in with friends to lovers trope and we have a winner!

Gravity was made my heart ache in both sweet and sad ways. While Hunter and Bryce had a fantastic beginning, but then they had a rocky path forward to prove to each other that the risk is worth it when you find the one that yo
u are drawn to like gravity.

Definitely recommend if you love a good Canadian hockey, friends to lovers, mm romance.

Also be prepared to brush up on your French (or make great use of your kindle translator like I did!)

This book was everything I needed and more. The love that these characters has for each other is everything. This book tore me apart and put me back together. I love the way the team cared for them and accepted them.
