A great retelling but sad ending. I had a hard time holding on and continuing to read in the last 1/4 of the book

They had me for a bit there, I'm not gonna lie. The writing is beautiful. But the character development is pretty minimal.

We go years without seeing Phaedra, and then all of a sudden she's crazy with no context or depth for how that developed. Similarly, Dionysis is the best until suddenly he's really sketchy.

It just left me feeling really unsatisfied in the end.
