Shallow one dimensional characters and ultimately white feminist snooze fest.

Great book that keeps you engaged and wanting for things to be better. I appreciate how much it's in favour of wanting more for yourself. Did feel halfway through that the book either should've had less parts or should've been split into two books

Read this with Tarragon she wNted more if a witchy fantasy story with adventure and dragons (epic witch fantasy) which is not this book. But it is a story about how 3 sisters over come a history of abuse and being 2nd class in a society where being male is the only way to succeed.

I love the concept of the book but I think the execution of it wasn't great. The characters were not as developed as they could have been and I had a hard time investing in their journeys.

This story. Mere words cannot describe it. I love the representation in it. The historical twists in time. This book has restored my curiosity, my hope, and my will.
The highest of the most high recommendations I give to anyone who hopes for a better world.

I really liked this one. From the simple (genius) concept, of "What if suffragettes, but also witches", through to a book with heart, danger, storytelling, myth, legend, and revolution. For me the strengths are the striking characters and the emotion they drive as the book moves towards conclusion. Every character here is so well defined, they have lives and motives moving beyond the main story, and this meant I really cared.

It's not for everyone I think, if you like your analogies to the modern day to be subtle for example, but it really worked for me.
