The Fall of Five is the fourth book in the Lorien Legacies and an excellent continuation in the series.
Be aware, spoilers are ahead!
In previous books, I have disliked how John continued to have a pity party with the whole "why me" and the losing of Sarah and Sam. The first book had some of that but it disappeared once all of the Garde were together. It was nice for him to finally except the role of leader.
While it is a bummer that Five is a trailer, I appreciate that we get different perspective and influences that they experience. I feel bad for the guy since he has really only know what the Mogadorians have told him but it was bond to have at least one of the Garde switch sides. It also, gives the others an unfortunate lesson that you can't always trust anyone.
There are two topics that this book covers that I really like. First being the whole love triangle Lore started with John, Sarah, and Six. I am so happy that that love triangle was put to rest because love triangles generally make characters do the most stupidest acts, which during a war is not ideal. The second topic is that Lore finally gave weight to the war with the death of Eight. It was sad to have him die but it shows that the danger is real. If the whole series ends with none of the Garde dying then it feels like there really isn't any risk involved but with a death, it raises the stakes and making every decision a crucial one.
All in all, I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to the continuation of the series and where the next book goes.

I have enjoyed this series from the beginning. Unfortunately the language has gotten worse and worse, which is too bad because I don't feel like I can recommend it to anyone. I love the plot and find that I can't put these books down. This one was equally tense. I felt very anxious reading it because I worried that someone I knew and cared about would die, which happened. I'm excited to see what happens next and look forward to the next in the series.
I was really far on hold at the library so I bought my own copy. I have now edited my own copy. There are scribbled out words throughout the book. Anyone borrowing my copy will be able to say, "beep" as they read!

Damn I forgot how much I hate Five. We only know him for a short time and he's already terrible. Marina was great but out of character. I completely forgot about the Ella subplot.
Finally they were altogether, but a bad ending.... Boo. Going to be sad when this series is over :(

SO good! This was one of the better ones in the series. The cliffhanger ending killed me though. I need to know what's going to happen!!
No no no no no no no no no no no!!!!!!! There had better be another book!!!!!!! IT CAN'T END THIS WAY!!!!!!!!! This book was spectacular as usual but if there aren't more I will SCREAM!!!!!!!! This ending doesn't satisfy me in the slightest. Two of my favorites dying, it's just not fair *sob* I could go on forever about this book... MAKE MORE
Still meh but I feel like things picked up as far as plot in the end. Most of it nothing really happened which made it hard to get through
What an ending!!! There are so many unanswered questions now, so many theories you can come up with, that it's going to be hard not picking up the next book soon.
This is one of the best books in the series so far. As you can guess from the title, the Garde come across 5 nd are finally all together. You'd expect that from this point things will go well. There will be a remarkable battle and Lorien will win. But you are in for a surprising treat. There are too many twists in this book, too many shocks and you can't believe you ever thought you could predict where the story was going.
I imagine the next one is going to drop more bombs on all our theories. Can't wait to get to it!

Damn.... that was a near tear jerker. Without giving too much away, be prepared for betrayal, loss and sadness. Why Pittacus Lore, why?
