Was the writing bad? Yes. Was the plot great? No. Was it a fun and minimally demanding read about a possessive unhinged MMC? yes. The MMC and FMC had no friction in their relationship the entire story despite an arranged marriage lol. however, i enjoyed the fact that the FMC was mute and the MMC was blind and did not look like the 1000 other book bf’s out there that are inhumanely attractive. That dynamic to the main characters relationship is why i give the extra .75  instead of 1. Otherwise, it was bad lol. Even the spice scenes were bland lol

3/5 ⭐
Fuck if I know/5 🌶️

Honestly my biggest problem with this book is the smut.
Listen.
There was A LOT of it.
But it was dog shit.
Literally the worst smut I've ever read, to the point where I started pitying the author's sex life, because if THIS is her FICTION?? I don't wanna know what's real.

Here's a reenactment of 99% of the smut in the book:
"Oops, my dick is hard."
"Well, now that you mentioned it, I'm soaking wet."
"Hey! You have a clit! Any way"
*Three thrusts*
"Oh we came together!! And in two minutes!" (Literally, it's said to be like less than five minutes nearly every time)
"Oh cool! Good night."

Y'all I don't think he touched, or even acknowledged the fact that she has boobs ONCE in this book, and occasionally they remembered the fact that a clit exists, but that's about it.

He went down on her like, twice, and she tried to give him head around the 80% mark, and they gave up and restored to the "plain" fucking.

I was SKIPPING THE SMUT.
M E.
THERE WAS SO MUCH OF IT BUT NONE AT ALL.

So, to sum up, the write is either a cishet man or a virgin woman who has no idea what sex is. (Sex in the shower all soaped up? UTI alert) And to say virgins can't write good sex scenes, but like, at least open pornhub once??
Why do these 30-20 yo newlyweds fuck as if they're seventy??

Oh, and don't let me START on the whole "hates sex/thinks she's asexual until she meets him" and "can't barrle physical touch until he meets her".

And the lack of communication??
I know she can't physically speak, but is he mute as well???
He has this big ass trauma, and they NEVER talked about it. The only reason why we OR SHE even know about it is because HIS PAKHAN'S WIFE tells her, AND THAT'S IT.
He never tells her what he does for work, doesn't tell her how he's been (basically light staking) her, NOTHING, until like the last 90%.
They talk, sure. About the weather thought, probably.

ANYWAY.
The audiobook was painful, but that's 100% a me problem, because I am russian, and the narrators clearly didn't bother to even look up the names, let alone the russian sentence, because those straight up gave me an aneurysm. I had to pause the audio and go touch grass for a moment, it was bad.
But really, I don't expect Americans to speak Russian, let alone well.
BUT GOOGLE THE NAMES, AT LEAST. FOR FUCKS SAKE.

Great first book of 2025 😀

This a short book so of course the plot moved very fast - the same happened in the first book - but there were some plot holes that left me wondering and wanting more development. This felt more incomplete than the first one. I still liked it but now I’m kinda nervous about rest of the series.

I also didn’t really like the development of their characters - Bianca didn’t really struggle with being married to a stranger all that much and I didn’t really like how it’s implied that Mikhail loathed any kind of physical touch but in 0.1 seconds he is comfortable with Bianca touching him? I feel like the characters had so much potential but with the length of the book being so short it (understandably) didn’t happen.

I also wish the relationship between Bianca and Lena was more explored - I think it would be so cute to watch the relationship blossom. I wasn’t a fan of them agreeing that Lena could call Bianca mom and that she does but we didn’t get to see that conversation play out.

(Also I was hoping that the sex scenes would get better - or that maybe instead of getting a couple scenes we would get just a very well written one - that didn’t happen. Kinda bummed about that.)

FINAL THOUGHT: I wish the book was longer and the plot/characters where more developed.
