After reading the first book, I was not particularly excited to read this one, assuming it would have the same timeline issues that I disliked in the first book. I couldn't have been more wrong because this book is actually shorter than the first one, but the timeline is much smoother and well thought out. This couple was utterly beautiful; usually, I read books where it's the female main character (FMC) who has body image insecurities, but in this one, it is the male main character (MMC), and the FMC reassured him so much, defending him to friends and family. Even if no one else saw it, she thought he was the hottest man alive, and I loved that. I didn't realize that this book had the single dad trope, but it does. I don't love how he became a father, but overlooking that, he is a great father and has been since day one. Bianca is no damsel in distress, which I love, and she proves time and time again throughout the story that if push came to shove, she can handle her own and save her man. I love that. This book had really good communication between the two main characters and no third-act breakup, which was amazing. Her connection with his daughter was beautiful. All in all, I cannot find fault with this book. It was quick but packed a punch of emotion, communication, and a healthy relationship coming out of an arranged marriage. I highly recommend it.

gonna copy paste few of the sentences from my book 1 review
this was a light read, this is a good started book into the mafia world because it focuses more on the romance rather than the mafia business
when a truce between the russian bratva and the Italian mob is arranged with a marriage to the capos daughter now ex prima ballerina bianca, mikhail the bratvas butcher doesn’t think long and volunteers as tribute, he has been watching her every performance for the past 6 months and he wouldn’t let such a chance go past him
her father who has only sent her to extract their inner information didn’t expect the two to form a bond, how will everything play out when he tries to interfere in their lives?
it was fast paced but not necessarily in a bad way it didn’t get in the way of the timeline, took away important information or leave us wondering what happened in between, tho for someone who had a problem with physical touch for years it was kinda weird for him to get used to her touch this fast
I loved how she always kissed his scars, making sure he knows she doesn’t mind them and in fact should wear short sleeves at home since he always only wore long ones to not scare/disgust her

Very much the exact same as the previous book in the series. I’m sensing that they’ll all be like this. We’ll see how far I get…
- Characters - 5; didn’t care for this MMC, but liked the FMC
- Atmosphere/Tone - 5; blah
- Writing/Style- 6; fine
- Plot - 5.5; also blah
- Pacing - 6; same critique as last time (rushed into HEA), but I was expecting it this time so it was less annoying
- Worldbuilding - N/A
- Relationships - 5; meh
- Enjoyment - 6.5; I read this so fast that I didn’t even really care. But it did hold my attention while it lasted! Like chewing gum
- Spice - 3; booooooring and so quick! I expected much more graphic detail from this series

Good story. I enjoyed this book better than the first.
this book gave me a modern day Beauty & The Beast type of vibe, but not in a cheesy way. BUT the freaking LETTER OPENER?!?!?!?! i'm swooning...
