I don't usually rate smut/erotica, but since this novella has a story outside of intimacy and sex, I'm giving it a rating.

It started out really good, it was pleasant and sexy at the same time. The kinks and fantasies weren't discussed in a way that would disgust and turn away readers who aren't into those kinds of set-up. It was definitely steamy, and I had a great time reading it.

The story was okay, it wasn't unique or anything amazing. It was typical in second-chance romance books.

Would still recommend for a quick and steamy read.

For such a short book it surprisingly managed to create longing, desire and depth of a relationship.

Meh. I know Naima Simone can write better sex scenes than she did here so I'm left a little underwhelmed. The characters were nicely developed but unlike the last book I read by her, I would have traded some of their constant angst for a little more of the actual erotica I signed up for. Harper was alright but Rion's "dirty talk" had me cringing more than once. Sooo...

Meh. Again.

The sex in this was really hot. The characters were just there honestly. I wish this book was longer so that these two could be more flushed out.

A quick and hot novella. Two things greatly annoyed me though (and reminded me that this was published back in 2016). First the mention of ‘mommy porn’. I mean what in the internalized misogyny is this?????? Second, the swipe a character takes at the Shades books. Really? Jealousy at a pop culture phenomenon is not a good look.

Only For A Night was hot, dirty and awesome. Although short it deals with a lot more than just hot sex, which I loved.

For such a short book, I did not feel like anything was missing in backstory or present-day occurrences. I loved Rion and Harper's story of a second chance at love. The only complaint I had would be that the ending seemed a bit rushed and the sap levels were high, but it wasn't anything unbearable. I would definitely recommend.
