Only For A Night was hot, dirty and awesome. Although short it deals with a lot more than just hot sex, which I loved.

For such a short book, I did not feel like anything was missing in backstory or present-day occurrences. I loved Rion and Harper's story of a second chance at love. The only complaint I had would be that the ending seemed a bit rushed and the sap levels were high, but it wasn't anything unbearable. I would definitely recommend.

A seriously spicy second-chance romance where the hero is the owner of an aphrodisiac club. Even though he’s cut ties with the Irish mob, Rion has never believed he was good enough for Harper. But when she, now widowed, shows up at his place of business and says she wants him, he can’t say no—so he says yes, but only for a night. After a stifling marriage, Harper is ready to cut loose, so she agrees to his terms. But when there’s a connection this strong, will they be able to walk away? (You know the answer to that!)

This is the first book in the new Lick series by author Naima Simone as well as one of the books launching the publishers new Scorched line. This series will revolve around three friends who decide to get out of the Irish Mob and open their own successful club that caters to those who favor the BDSM lifestyle. This story follows Rion Ward. At heart, I found this to be a second chance love story between Rion and Harper, the girl that was his friend when they were younger. These two characters are completely opposite in their background, but Harper loved Rion when she was younger and wants a second chance. I enjoyed these two characters. Harper is tired of feeling rejected and decides its time to get what she wants. The chemistry between these two is evident on the pages of the story and the love scenes between these two are extremely steamy. There is also a sweet element to the story as these two try to find their way back to each other. The story itself is well written and the author does a wonderful job of engaging the reader right from the start with the opening scene between Rion and Harper. This is a novella so it is a shorter read, but very enjoyable.

I received an ARC from the publisher through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This did not influence me as the opinions expressed are my own.

This was okay.

The whole sex club was just...amazing.

But Goddamn it! The second hand embarassmement I got on every fucking chapter literally made me chuck my phone across the room and groan in pain.

Sigh. Maybe this is a personal problem but there is dirty talk in this book, and maybe I just have a very distinguished taste in dirty talk (I'm mortified as I write this) but dirty talk is flowery, isn't elongated. It's fucking direct, and straight to the point. And damn it! Dirty talk was just sooooo flowery here.

And the dialogue....omg. If the second hand embarassmement didn't kill me, this literally took a pistol to my head. Bloody hell. The dialogue, it wasn't cringey, it just wasn't my cup of tea.

And again. I've said this so many times damn it. MEN WHO SELF-CONSCIOUS AREN'T FUCKING WEAK. MEN WHO ARE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES aren't the fucking bad guys! Is it so wrong to wish a better life, a better partner for a person you love? Damn it, who doesn't.

I'll admit, running away is the most cowardice act I know off.

But running away is not the same as being ashamed of one self.

And I just don't come to terms which how this book regarded their "conflict".

But all is well, I'm actually considering giving this book 2.5 stars... But Rion was too precious and sexy (and corny) as hell to be below average.

100% what I was expecting it to be - sometimes smut as a genre is so funny to me ;)

It would be a 3 star book for me but the ending is one of the best I've ever read.
The story itself include a menagé scene but otherwise is not a MFM book. I really liked the heat between the MCs and the premise of the book (ex-con, ex-best friends).

For this book being so short and we'll majority smut it was actually so good, not in the it has a lot smut way but the plot (very small plot) that was there was very enjoyable.
