I kept hoping for some growth by the main character and by the end was so disappointed. This book made some good observations about class conflict but I felt that was about it. I hated the stereotyping and the plot.

On re-read this was a strong 4.5 stars. Not sure why my opinion changed so much!!!

I am afraid I did not particularly like this book.
For some reason I found it hard to engage and care about the characters.

The setting was good in that I liked the descriptions of the school buildings.
I found the more I read about Lee and her changing attitrude to her family the more I didn't really like her. She made things hard for herself and through that became someone that I think she didn't really want to be. I really felt sorry for her parents when they came to visit her and realised that she was embarrassed by them.

I can't say I would recommend this but everyone has different reading likes and dislikes. So if you think you would like a book set in an American Boarding school then give this a go.

Honestly it’s impressive how the author really captures being an insecure teen in this novel. I related so hard to parts of this book and it brought me back to being in those moments.

This book is longer than it needs to be and definitely a slow pace but it really hits the nail on the head of the experience and I think women in particular might relate.

I really liked the end! It wrapped things up well but not too tidy. It was perfect.

I couldn't even finish this book. The plotline was going nowhere and I was just bored.
