India Holton, where have your books been all my life?? I am IN LOVE with this series. This second book lived up to all my sky high expectations, with a romping adventure, laugh out loud comedy of manners, literary allusions galore, witty banter, steamy romantic chemistry and so much fun! Highly highly recommend for anyone who enjoys historical romantic comedy with a piratic adventurous twist!

This book is funny as hell, packed with whip-smart banter, airborne houses, feminist pirate-witch antics, and the kind of romantic tension that leaves scorch marks on the page.  Full of high-stakes hijinks, heart, and hilarity with just the right amount of chaos and charm, this book delivers better than the first in the series. It's an incredibly fast read and I cannot wait to read book three.

I thought I was heading towards a reading slump, but... well, I was saved. This series, this book—I can’t even begin to describe what went through my mind while reading it. It was funny, it was intriguing, and it was so easy to get through. I thought the prequel was good (still do, by the way), but this one topped it somehow. The same particularly witty writing remained, which was awe-inspiring, and the storyline was simple enough to follow but, as I said, interesting as hell. And the characters... it was so good to see Cecilia and Ned again, but I have to admit I liked Charlotte's and Alex's dynamic a bit better. Anyway, in short, I flew through this book, and I loved every second.

My loan ran out and while it was a fun book I just wasn’t into the story enough to put it on hold again.
