Nothing groundbreaking, but a fun romp. Biggest complaint is that it feels like it's written to be a movie or TV show - a lot of the description and quirky action feels more like it's meant to be visual than read.

I slogged through 60% of this book and could not get into it. I was bored and didn’t really like the characters at all. Didn’t feel that the previous book’s characters were incorporated well enough into the story. Unfortunate, I really wanted to like this series!

This book is SO fun, I love the tension and the steam and the emotionally constipated people dealing with their intense feelings. I adore Charlotte, she is one of my favorite main characters I’ve been introduced to in a long time!!! Highly recommend for a fun and light read!!! I swooned, giggled, and kicked my little feet.

Another brilliant, madcap, playful adventure/romance from India Holton! I loved Charlotte, who lives her life wondering “What Would Jane Austen’s Heroines Do?” and Alex, the gorgeous but troubled Irish pirate and Ned’s bestie. The sheer amount of wordplay in this book was enough to make me love it, but I adored seeing Charlotte figure out what exactly it is that she wanted, stretching outside her comfort zone to befriend pirates and dodge the Wiccan League and even the occasional witch hunter (though I did find it a little odd that this fantasy world wasn’t down with witchcraft when pirates are sailing the skies in enchanted battle-houses, but oh well.) So, so, so much fun.
