This one didn’t grab me as much as the first one, and struck me as overly wordy.

Another hilarious story in the Dangerous Damsels series. I loved the characters in this one! Not only was the banter between the two love interests phenomenal, the development of friendships with other characters was an excellent layer. Charlotte's battle between what is expected of her and allowing herself to find what she actually wants/loves showed how a female lead becomes a strong female lead (with the supportive shoulder of a fiendish pirate). It was a bit of an instant romance trop, which I don't usually love. However, the ridiculousness of the story made it work.
This book was a departure from the first in the series, which I enjoyed. Unfortunately, I didn't find anything good in this second story. Honestly, I only finished it because I was reading with a friend - only to find out she gave up about 1/3 of the way in. Had I known, I would have absolutely stopped, as well. Book 1: The Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrels, is good. Book 2: The League of Gentlewomen Witches, is terrible. I've already got Book 3: The Secret Service of Tea and Treason, so I'm staying optimistic for a return to better writing and storytelling.

A pirate falls in love with a witch. They go on a quest to steal a magical amulet. It’s unclear who kidnapped who. The banter is beautiful. The pirate has an Irish accent. He uses the word “darling” enough times to make anyone swoon. Need I say more?
I adored this book almost as much as its predecessor the wisteria society of lady scoundrels. I loved how the author set this book in the same world so that we got to see characters from the previous book pop up at random times.
This is exactly what you need to read to regulate your nervous system! A silly, fantastical romantasy set in a world with pirates flying houses and witches riding bicycles in the air. It was truly a delight!
